Junior Division: 7th and 8th Grade

Junior Division Teams: The Junior division teams are divided into competitive level and recreational (provided sufficient numbers of players available) based on team manager requests and a team registrations that includes a minimum of nine (9) players.  Note: During Fall Ball, all teams in all divisions are considered recreational.  Playing rules and participation requirements are geared to maximize the opportunity for players to learn the game and enjoy the experience of growing up with the sport.

Teams:
Teams formation is primarily by grade and are created by the players school or neighborhood and by “friend requests” when possible or as assembled by a team manager.

Individual Registration or Complete / Partial Team Rosters:
Individual player registrations are welcome; everyone will be assigned to a team. Teams are created based on current grade, neighboring schools/subdivisions and 'friend requests' as team space allows. Team Managers are welcome to assemble a complete or partial roster and submit it as part of the Team Managers volunteer registration. Partial team registrations will be joined with individual players who register for that division of play to complete the roster(s).   Players registering as part of a complete or partial team are encouraged to include their Team Managers name when they complete registration.

Games:  All players are in the team batting order and the required playing time and pitcher limits are based on innings.  In the Junior Division, games have a 1 hour and 50 minute time limit, 7 inning games.  League standings are recorded and awards are giving to the top teams in each division.  Games will be scheduled at Black Bob Park fields and Prairie Center Park fields.  Pre-season practice fields are provided by the league.  NOTE: During Fall ball scores are not recorded and standings are not maintained. Regular season schedule includes 16 games plus a team optional post season city tournament which could end around July 14. Pre-season practice begins about April 1, games start about April 25/26 and regular season end prior to July 4 unless make-up games are needed.

Safety and Fun – at OYB, we put the two together! To secure a safe and fun environment for each player and team the following are provided as part of your players registration fees:  Logistical support, player uniforms (shirt and hat), team equipment (catchers gear, batting helmets, bats, practice balls and game balls), practice and game facilities and game officiating.
