Rookie Division: T-Ball, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades

Rookie Division Teams: All OYB Rookie Division Teams are considered recreational teams, as teams move to and beyond 3rd grade they may decide to remain Recreational or move to higher levels of competition offered through OYB. Playing rules and participation requirements are geared to maximize the opportunity for players to learn the game and enjoy the experience of growing up with the sport. Teams are created by the players school or neighborhood and by “friend requests” when possible. Scores for grades Pre-K (4-5 yrs) K, 1 and 2, may be recorded but standings are not kept. All recreational players receive a participation award. All ROOKIE games and practices, scheduled through OYB, will be held at Oregon Trail Park. All players will receive a game jersey and cap. All other playing equipment, except for a glove, will be provided. Regular season Resident registration fee is $60.00 for Pre-K, and $110.00 for K, 1 and 2. There is an Early Bird discount of $10.00 if registered by January 31, 2014. A Non-resident fee of 10% is added for all non 66061 and 66062 residents.

SPRING 2015: Rookie practices will start early April with games starting in early May. The Spring 2015 season will conclude early July, (specific date is based on rainouts/make ups). Games are played weeknight evenings and Saturday afternoons, occasionally a Sunday game may be scheduled. The season schedule is for 10 games in Pre-K (T-Ball) and for 14 games in grades K, 1 and 2. A Post Season "City Tournament" is available through OYB for 2nd grade and older divisions.

STYLE OF PLAY: Pre-K is T-Ball, Grades K and 1 are Coach Pitch, Grade 2 and 3 is Player/Coach Pitch.

Individual Registration or Complete / Partial Team Rosters: Individual player registrations are welcome; everyone will be assigned to a team. Teams are created based on current grade, neighboring schools/subdivisions and 'friend requests' as team space allows. Team Managers are welcome to assemble a complete or partial roster and submit it as part of the Team Managers volunteer registration. Persons interested in assembling a team should take out a Manager's Packet from the OYB office. Partial team registrations will be joined with individual players who register for that division of play to complete the roster(s). Players registering as part of a complete or partial team are encouraged to include their Team Managers name when they complete registration.

Safety and Fun – at OYB, we put the two together! To secure a safe and fun environment for each player and team the following are provided as part of your players registration fees: Logistical support, player uniforms (shirt and hat), team equipment (catchers gear, batting helmets, bats, practice balls and game balls), practice and game facilities and game officiating.
