For two decades, Blaine May was a fixture at Olathe Youth Baseball.  His passing in the Spring of 2017 was not only a loss for his family and friends, but also for players and umpires participating in the league.  Besides being a good husband and father to his boys, Blaine was an uplifting mentor and father figure to participants and many up-and-coming umpires in OYB.  He was only practicing what he preached as you would often hear him say…” It’s for the kids”.

Because of his profound impact on the youth that have come through the Olathe Youth Baseball program, OYB created the Blaine May Memorial Tournament to honor Blaine, and all the father’s (and father figures) that take the time to teach the great game of baseball.   The 2020 event will be taking place the weekend (June 5 - 7) at Prairie Center Park in Olathe.

This annual event raises the necessary funds to help OYB keep up with rising costs and help OYB’s baseball program remain viable for many years to come.
