Call for Scholarship Fund Candidates

Purpose: The GBWAA Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to high school seniors based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need and a passion for baseball or softball.

Criteria: The students eligible for assistance must be graduating high school seniors who reside in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District and intend to continue their education at a trade school, college or university. They must also have played baseball or softball within the community. Consideration will be given to academic achievement, athletic achievement, financial need, sportsmanship and community involvement.

Guidelines: Students must submit an essay of 500 words or less, describing the impact of community sports on their development of character, life experiences, education and career ambitions. The deadline for application is May 5th.
Amount: Each scholarship awarded will be $500. Recipient(s) will be required to attend the GBWAA General Meeting the last Thursday of May.
